Latvian amateur theaters in Bergen and Dublin will delight their audiences with performances at the end of January.
Two Latvian amateur theaters will delight audiences with premieres in their homes at the end of January – the Latvian Amateur Theater "Sliedes" in Dublin and LATiBergen in the Norwegian city of Bergen.
As Baiba Gaigra, director of the Latvian theatre in Ireland “Sliedes”, says in a conversation, the gathering of Latvian amateur theatres was a good springboard for ideas and growth.

Diaspora amateur theaters gather in Birmingham
The diaspora amateur theater festival "Between 5 Islands" has just taken place in the second largest city in Great Britain - Birmingham. 10 amateur theater representatives from 5 countries participated in it. The festival not only performed theater, but also organized other artistic and sports activities. Our correspondent from Great Britain - Ilze Kalve reports.

Interview with LR2 "Latvians in the World"
At the end of August, Latvian children from different countries - Sweden, Norway, Italy, Azerbaijan, Great Britain and Latvia - met at a theatre camp in Great Britain, at the Daugavas Vanagi property "Straumēni", where they improved their skills in performing freely in front of both the audience and the cameras, imagining themselves in the roles of TV correspondents, through theatre plays, speeches, movements, improvisations, readings, narrations, dialogues and other exercises.

On July 5, 2021, three representatives of the PLATS board participated in the Latvian Radio 1 program "Global Latvian. 21st Century".
The program was attended by PLATS Board Chair Māra Lewis, who heads the San Francisco New Theatre, Board Representative Laura Ritenberga-Kindler, Head of the German Latvian Amateur Theatre-Studio "Ezīši", and Board Representative Gita Robalde, Head of the Bradford Theatre Troupe "Saulespuķe".
All 3 directors told us how their theaters came to be, what their connection is with theaters, and what it means to work with fellow countrymen in creating joint theater performances.
